Passport Radar

Radar detectors are often used to detect police that are using radar guns to “shoot” at moving vehicles to determine their current speed. Using radar detectors can effectively reduce your chance of getting caught by police and being written a ticket, since a detectors can warn you of nearby speed radars which allows you time to slow down to the posted speed limit of your road.

passport radarThe radar detector is a “cat and mouse” type of game, with new radar technology being used to catch speeders that radar detectors have to play catch up with in order to avoid becoming obsolete. ANPR, peizo sensors, and VASCAR laser technology cannot be detected as of right now. The majority of radar detectable signals consist of X, K, Ka, and Ku bands. LIDAR is a different type of technology, using a light beam instead of wave frequencies to detect speed. Because of this, the majority of radar detectors are useless against this type of technology, unless the radar detector is specifically a LIDAR detector. Even then, LIDAR detectors are somewhat inefficient, since they aren’t able to pick up light beams further ahead of you like traditional frequency wave radar detectors are able to.

As of now, Virginia and Washington DC are the only places where radar detectors are illegal to use in the United States. Everywhere else is mostly free to use, or free to use with minor stipulations.

Passport Radar

Passport Radar is the top detector in the world. Majority of their brands are known for producing the most sensitive alarms, well before being detected. A lot of their radars and specifically engineered for the user in mind–Easy-to-read LED light, GPS nagivation, remembering locations of speed traps, adjustable noise–and many more!

Passport 9500ci

Tuesday, 1. November 2011

Regarded as one of the higher tiers of radar detectors, the Passport 9500ci is the best at dismissing false alarms and alerting you about incoming radar guns within seconds.

It’s a custom installed detector, detects all bands being used today, and can pick up on lasers with “shifting” technology. Also included is the highly praised GPS technology that maps where certain speed traps and cops are most likely hanging out. Speeding tickets are something that you should never worry about with the 9500ci. To rest even easier, the 9500ci is not detectable by any detector detectors.

The Passport 9500ci features:

  • Twin antenna for accurate, long-distance performance.
  • Laser “shifters” that adjust from front to back, with increased sensitivity to pick up on lasers targeted at your vehicle.
  • TrueLock technology, adapts to “false” signals so that you won’t be seeing them repeated time and time again.
  • The speed of the vehicle determines the sensitivity of the detector, for optimal reaction time.
  • DEFENDER database, able to mark certain places where speed traps are known for being present for future reference.

Pick yours up today and forget about getting tickets.
